Ansel is the mysterious object of his desires. What they bring out in each other is powerful, dangerous and destructive.

There's a sadness in his eyes, some unspoken pain he's long since buried. He seeks some unknowable thing, and looks in all the wrong places- card tables at dingy casinos, a bottle of gin, or somewhere between the legs of one Calder Dimaggio. In his history, there's a family, patched together and broken. He is a lost and lonely soul, a bird who manages to escape every cage he's put in.

Peacock Soundtrack
The full cinematic soundtrack, with a mixture of sultry 60s soundtrack songs and more modern music that fits the vibe. This is one of my favorite playlists I've made and I highly recommend listening to it if you've read the book, the tracks go in chronological order with the story and end with the "credits." It's long, so I don't think it plays through the whole thing on the widget here so you might need to go to it on spotify!



Ansel's playlist
A collection of songs about sad, wistful lonesomeness, ranging from era-appropriate songs to modern songs with a vintage/ western vibe. It's very space cowboy in his divorce era, like Ansel ♡



Vera's playlist
Sad songs for caged birds and 60s housewives. This one has a very tailored, dreamy 60s-era vibe. It makes for great background music or working music.
