ABOUT

Celandine is the crown prince. For his whole life, he’s been trained for the throne, and acts like it– he’s seen by most everyone around him as cold, calculating and ambitious. Rue alone sees his softer side.

Beyond the sheltered confines of their restrictive noble society, there are still whisperings of magic in old legends, though such ideas are not looked upon kindly in Celandine and Rue's world. Raised together, the two princes have fostered a dependency on one another that stands to threaten the roles they are meant to take.

When Celandine begins to manifest strange traits accompanied by a ferocious, animalistic appetite, he pulls away, his suspicion sparing no one. Leaving Rue tormented in his wake, he flees his home in secret, vowing not to return until he's found a cure for his quickly progressing transformation.

Celandine

A quiet boy, most see him as cold, bookish, and indifferent. Beneath, his interior is anything but composed. He holds his devotion to Rue inside, along with something bestial and violent that threatens to overthrow his reason...

Rue

Rue has been close to Celandine since his earliest memories. He knows the king isn't really his father, though officially he's still second in line for the throne. He cares little for power, and less for academics, and would rather spend his time in the stables, or indulging in the various fineries available to him. He is well-liked, but in Rue’s mother’s opinion, he shows no aptitude for politics and is “too soft” besides. But that won't really matter, will it? 😥
